Your two stories remind me quite a lot of the stories in American Indian Myths and Legends edited by Richard Erdoes. Is that where you are getting inspiration from? Don't be offended by the title of the book. My copy is from the early 80's. Native American wasn't picked up as proper until a bit later.

It is interesting writing. I like myth's and legends.

Ta,

lol not a coincidence, I do believe that is where i got my inspiration. I've always loved mythology of all kinds (which is why I think it's so awesome that CM incorperates some Egyptian myths into Coyote Blue) and the trickster stories are always the best.
One thing that both my friends and my English teacher have praised about my writing that struck me as odd, is that I have no qualms with killing things off, even in a humorous story, like I kill off the goat in Coyote Iktome and the Goat. I recently wrote a story for english class (which i'll probably post up here once i type it up) where I kill off my narrator halfway through the story and he keeps right on narrating (reincarnation. we were studying Indian literature at the time, so I wanted to work in the Hindu beliefs of reincarnation and karma.)
Anyway, thanks for reading and such. I always love to have people read my stuff and hear what they have to say.
