as for minty, I was joking about Samuel. I was actually thinking about Michael Clarke Duncan, though I couldn't remember his name. I am inclined to think he would be a good pick. Or maybe Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus) or Forrest Wittaker (though he may be a bit old for the role now. He was awesome in Ghost Dog though)
are we all agreed that Uma Thurman would make a pretty mean Nemain? or maybe she could be Babd and Carrie Anne Moss could be Nemain.

I haven't read this entire thread, but when I read the book I pictured someone like Edward Norton as Charlie.

Has anyone mentioned him yet? He's dorky beta, yet can pull out the cool when forced into it.

As for Lilly, I'm thinking the girl who played Juno- Ellen Page.

Oh, and I pictured Tony Todd (he played Candyman in that movie... a long time ago) as Minty Fresh. He's tall, big and has a slightly ominous face.

I thought of Tony Todd for Minty as well, but doubt he could deliver the funny lines as well as the Dunc'.

A Dirty Job Movie...

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Fisher Stevens as Charlie. He is the narrator for this great book, but because he is also an actor, I think he'd be perfect. He is, to me, the quintessential Charlie Asher.

I kind of pictured Colin Hanks as Charlie. And I pictured Lance Reddick from the tv show Fringe as Minty Fresh, and Lucille Soong as Mrs. Ling
