So, do the pears constitute kind of a Buddhist Communion when they eat them?
(An aside to my fellow Catholics, or lapsed RCs... wouldn't Communion be way weird if we got little Jesus-shaped hosts? *Or weirder, for those who see it as weird to begin with.) _________________ "No, I'm not a pessimist. I for one, though I'm not what you call christian, think it would only be appropriate for the priest to allow the partakers of that little ceremony to choose from pre-shaped body parts of christ.
"Would you care for an arm or a foot of the lord's body this day?"
You could rotate each week and really cover his anatomy. Why should it just be a bland "body" of christ? Spice it up a little.
Wine, on the other hand, seems symbolic enough of blood. No need to go overboard. _________________ "The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science." - Albert Einstein

Body parts, huh? I was thinking more like action pose Jesus...
"Hey! I got Baseball Jesus for Communion!"
"I got Flying Jesus!"
"Aw man, I got Couch Potato Jesus this week..."
But body parts work, too. _________________ "No, I'm not a pessimist. At some point the world shits on everybody. Pretending it ain't shit makes you an idiot, not an optimist."

I'd become Catholic just to fuck with the priests if I could choose body parts.
Hello Father. I'd like Christ's dick today. Amen.

Not to worry. There are plenty of Christians in the U.S. who aren't really "christian" either.

They could serve calamari rings as representing the Holy Prepuce. _________________ "If you allow yourself to be offended, then you're a bit of [a] nitwit."

At my church, the wine of choice is purple drink. PURPLE DRINK!
Haven't had it since I got confirmed though. When I was 12.
Yet I go to a Catholic university... actually the second oldest in the country.
And I'm agnostic...
But I would have to say I'm a better Christian than a lot of "Christians".
Wait, wasn't this thread about Eastern Pear Religion? _________________ "Life's a garden: dig it" - Voltaire (well, he basically said it)

I think they are pretty and sweet!
We can never eat them here. We would light incense and start worshiping at once. _________________ Your religion, you miserable man, begins in your stomach and ends in a lavatory - Nodar Dumbadze

I just want to know how they do it... does it say how they get the pears to grow in Buddha form? _________________ "Life's a garden: dig it" - Voltaire (well, he basically said it)

Methodist over here. No wine, only Juicy Juice for communion. Lame.

I may have grown up with protestant grape juice when my catholic cousins had wine, but while their host was some disgusting die-stamped wafer thing, we got fresh-baked bread-host. _________________ Avoid being normal -- John Lennon
