I'm amazed that people still get married. It's an institution seeped in spousal oppression. A marriage license in historical context is little more than a car title to a man.
However, I understand that its become romanticized and has taken on a whole different meaning. But, still... all the arguments made that it's a covenant protected by the Christian religion? Nuh uh! Marriage is something that religion gobbled up, NOT a point of origin.
That being said, I'm all for equality of marriage. By denying same sex couples the right to marry is basically telling them they're second class citizens and not privvy to the same rights as hetero couples.
I still think marriage in itself is stupid.
I'll probably get married, though, nonetheless. Who can say no to all those yummy discounts?
