Ok I don't read politics so I probably wont notice what other people say about this but I'm big time pro gay marriage so it was cool too see that Clinton has changed his mind.

I'm amazed that people still get married. It's an institution seeped in spousal oppression. A marriage license in historical context is little more than a car title to a man.

However, I understand that its become romanticized and has taken on a whole different meaning. But, still... all the arguments made that it's a covenant protected by the Christian religion? Nuh uh! Marriage is something that religion gobbled up, NOT a point of origin.

That being said, I'm all for equality of marriage. By denying same sex couples the right to marry is basically telling them they're second class citizens and not privvy to the same rights as hetero couples.

I still think marriage in itself is stupid.

I'll probably get married, though, nonetheless. Who can say no to all those yummy discounts?

Honestly part of the reason that Laveric and I made things legal is taxes and next of kin. I never wanted my mom to get power hungry and go against all my wishes when I was in a coma or something.

Which is, of course, a complete and utter lie on the part of those making that "argument," because the marriage license itself comes from the state, not from the church (and the minister, like a judge, becomes an agent of the state in solemnizing the marriage).

Ouch. Now that my dirty little secret is out, can I interest you in a cigar?

I fly into a ball of rage at the idea "Gay Marriage would ruin the sanctity of Marriage."

In my opinion, what's really helping to ruin the sanctity of Marriage:
"Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire?"
"The Bachelor"
"The Bachelorette"
"Joe Millionaire"
"Wife Swap"
(Picked up by FOX (HA!)) "I Married a Stranger"
(pre-production, picked up by CBS) "Arranged Marriage"
And, just for good measure, Tiger Woods.

Quote:
Former President Bill Clinton has revealed he recently had a change of heart on the issue of same-sex marriage.

That's impressive considering he no longer has the power to do anything about it.
