Well, if prison is purely punishment that leads us to a different place than if we're looking to rehabilitate.
Why should we need to rehabilitate?
If it's fucked up out of the box, it gets sent back to the manufacturer, right?
What part of "Don't stab people for no good reason." didn't you understand as a child?
What part of don't steal didn't you understand?
Why should I have to ask you these questions?
Did I NOT make myself clear the first time?
I do tire of all the "we have to be sympathetic and understanding" nonsense.

So is it drunk driving, vehicle theft, stealing a vehicle while under the influence, stealing drunk drivers' vehicles, stealing drunken vehicles, drinking stolen vehicles, or all of the above that happen more often in Canada than in the US? Do concealed weapons reduce drunk driving? Where is your source? _________________ White and feathery, yet crude and noisy, the chicken is the backbone of our farming community.

I found a graph on wikipedia that referenced a non existant pdf (reference), but I bet the data is good. Shows how Canada burglaries have been greater than the US since about 1991, and that burglaries in the US (per capita) have been dropping ever since. I added some dates of gun control laws according to infoplease, and threw together this picture
1st blue line: 1986 Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act, Firearms Owners' Protection Act
2nd blue line: 1990 Crime Control Act
3rd blue line: 1994 Brady handgun Violence Prevention Act, Assault Weapons Ban
Would the US line look different if it weren't for the gun control laws enacted at the blue lines? We'll never know. I just like data and references _________________ White and feathery, yet crude and noisy, the chicken is the backbone of our farming community.

Technically India is a "third world" country. From their point of view, all other worlds are beneath them, Switzerland, so far so that it is merely mythical. _________________ To Learn is to Know
