Mojo (or Mojitos), por favor...

I was going to post this on FB, but since I'm here for the Zen-baby congrats (Z-aby?)...

My mom is having surgery this afternoon on her carotid artery. She's had some health issues the last two years ranging from difficult to frightening and this is the latest round. She had surgery last year on her left sub-clavian artery; it was supposed to be a stent insertion, but when they began they found the artery far too blocked to proceed and had to do a full on bypass. That went well, but it still hasn't "solved" the problems she's been having.

Today they're going after her left carotid artery. The think it's around 80% blocked - they thought the sub-clav was around 85, but found it at more like 93%, so anything can happen.

Regardless of how our "relationship" is, she's still my mother and I'm a little freaked out... I've had nothing but a sense of morbid dread since I found out the surgery time yesterday afternoon.

So if you have a spare minute and could send some good thoughts, it would be much appreciated.
