Please, Be Gentle.  Reply with quote

I did not bring pie. I don't like pie.

But I like chocolate. So I brought chocolate cake. Fair?

I'll reveal more as you beat me endlessly over the head with hardbound copies of A Dirty Job, but for now, here are some numbered key points to tantalize you:

1. I'm addicted to Moore, Robbins, Vonnegut, and O'Brien. I cannot do anything else in life when I have one of their books in my hands. It's taken years of practice to be able to not plow through each one in the collection over and over and over and over again.

2. When I'm not reading, I'm blathering on television. But I'm still studying, so I'm not doing it as a "professional". Yet. When I do, I imagine television sets across the nation will be thrown off balconies and sports ratings will plummet.

3. I need a woman. But don't we all?

4. I like pizza.

5. Prog rock rocks until you stop making music and it's suddenly an occasional note sandwiched by ten minutes of silence.

6. Did I mention I brought cake?

7. Please, be gentle.[/i]

Very Happy Welcome EM! Very Happy

If you want Joe to be gentle, better bring him a key lime pie-
it's ok, you don't have to eat the pie...

Can't speak for everybody, but...
I don't need a woman- most of those bitches piss me off-
the aforementioned Joe doesn't need one either,
he's looking for a man, preferably one that will bring him pie-
did I mention that we like pie around here?

I like pizza, too- as long as it doesn't have bits of dead animals on it...
oh yeah, I'll take some chocolate cake! Very Happy

Want some cocoa with that?

I'll dig up key-lime pie, then, too.

And pizza shouldn't have anything but the natural ingredients - crust, sauce, cheeeese.

I'll take some cocoa, but cocoa and pizza? Bit bizarre...

Chocolate and cheese are not a friendly mix, believe you me. Shocked

Strike 1: No pie.
Strike 2: Chocolate cake as an offering INSTEAD of pie

not fairing very well at the moment.... tsk tsk

Welcome all the same!

The cocoa's for washing down cake & pie-
& chocolate cheesecake is quite tasty as well...

Hmmm... wonder if I should post that recipe for pumpkin-chocolate cheesecake...

Oh, when it's too hot for cocoa, I also make offerings of sweet tea...

Excuse me. I realize this will probably get my status as a Diva Ultima pulled, but I'd take chocolate cake over pie any day.

Now, EM's real mistake was in bringing me a chocolate cake and not bringing any pie for the rest of you.

And anyone who thinks that chocolate and cheese don't go together has not had my chocolate cheesecake or a well executed cassata (or however it's spelled, the cake with ricotta and chocolate layers).

Carry on.

What's that phrase they call out as new inmates walk down the aisle in a prison?....oh yes. Fresh meat.

1. The addicts meet once a week at the church in Pine Cove. Their group is called "Lizard Woodpeckers and Galapagos Tomcats."

2. When you "do it" professionally, it is called prostitution. Don't get caught. The law frowns on it if they're not on the take. But, we all blather here. Some have made it a career. (Doug.)

3. Women will be your doom.

4. Howard's Pizza (locally made) is the only acceptable pizza.

5. Ten minutes is never "suddenly."

6. Cake is fine. Cake, or death.

7. Gentle is a relative term but I am not related to you, so. No.

I have to say I also take a good chocolate cake over pie almost any day. Specially if you have chocolate ice cream to go with it. Then I'll be gone in the cake and will no nothing else until I'm done. Ask Laveric some days he fears sharing a piece of cake with me for the fact that I might stab him with my fork if the cake is to good to share. Deb I think I love you. You know Eddy Izzard Smile.

I need a woman too Wink

Moore, Vonnegut, Robbins - very good. But Miles O'Brien? That's just weird.

Welcome.

I don't know Eddie Izzard personally, but I wouldn't kick him out of bed for wearing a dress.

Tim, not Miles.

Tim O'Brien: Going After Cacciato, Northern Lights, Tomcat in Love, Nuclear Age, If I Die In a Combat Zone (Box Me Up and Ship Me Home), and much more.

And yes, I have ice cream to share, too. So you can have your pick of any combo of key-lime pie, chocolate cake, and multiple flavors of ice cream. Wink

Miles O'Brien and Tim Robbins? Pretty eclectic tastes.
