Idea A nephew? Shocked
You can pre-order Neal's book on Amazon! I just did! I know NOTHING about it except it has what appears to be a monk on the front.
But I'm thinking I might know that guy....
Laughing (if you read crypto and baroque cycle, you know what I mean!)
you CAN'T order AG's book yet...
I try.
I don't recognize him without the duster and goggles... are we sure it's him?
Crap. He's like a very secretive kinda guy... check out his website. We're never going to manage to find out if the AG let out any hints about his new book while they ate nanobots.
WAIT WAIT WAIT! Is that Spy Goddess/TokyoPop Michael Spradlin????
We can totally work with this guy!
Cool

Have you read "The Big U"? It was his first. Sort of Animal House for '80s computer geeks. It's obviously a first effort, but great fun.

Yep, and in the beginning was the Command line...
He has said in articles he was embarrassed by those, but I kinda like them...
I really like Cobweb.
Diary and Snowcrash are good but I think my kids liked them more than I did.
Crypto and the Baroque Cycle though...
Oh my gosh, there are no words to describe....
But then I come from a family a engineers, mathematicians, and biomedical researchers. I think he does too...
There are so many historical references and references to economic theory, etc. It's like an oil painting with layers on layers...
I just LOVE those books...

You should know that you absolutely made Steve Kluger's weekend with your reaction when he went up and introduced himself. He wasn't even expecting to be recognized, let alone greeting so enthusiastically.

I wonder if Slash regrets choosing that hat as his signature accessory. I mean, how long has he worn that same hat? You should have offered to trade your nanobot hat for his mad hatter hat to see if he'd go for it.

Neil's brain must have pushed all of his hair out, he is a Mr. Smartyman.

I was such a huge GnR fan at one period of my life.. What a thrill to have a dog butt book with Slash's signature. Razz
Looks like you survived another near miss of nanobots. Yeah! Hurray!!! Keep up the good work young Chris. Make sure you keep good control of the tenticles on your super hero hat they look like they could have easily groped Marylin... Shocked
