Something that I think has a hand in murder rates and other violent crimes here in the US is social isolation. It's very hard to socialise here. You have to actively seek it whereas where I grew up, you almost had to go out of your way to avoid socialising with others.

Well the Tea-Bagged say we are becoming a Socialist State, of course they also want to do away with actually letting the public elect our government so they cant really be trusted anyway.

My thought on our penal system is that we are far too lenient in our prisons, absolutely no privileges other than substanence food and no contact with outside world, no media, letters home, visitation. Nothing but book-learning. Hell if they arent willing to be citizens with Rights & Privileges then let them relocate to a area free of Laws, Penal Colonies can, after time become something worthwhile.

And before I piss of the world, take nearly everything I say as sarcasm or nonsense or bullshit or ignore it completely.
