Sandahl Bergman as Molly

I just watched a director's cut of the classic John Milius film "Conan The Barbarian" last night, and it struck me how perfect Sandahl Bergman (Valeria in the film) would have been for Molly at one point. Her life, after all, was similar to Molly's (first spotted as a dancer, she had a short but semi-illustrious career as a sword swinger in movies like "Conan" and "Red Sonja").

She'd be a little old for Molly these days (53), but my bet is that she still looks pretty good because she starred in a fitness video only nine years ago.

I always pictured the main characters to be in their 40s and up...

I'm actually willing (gulp!) to go on record as believing it's a good film. Milius was not a lightweight director, and he elevated the odd tales of an even odder writer (Robert E. Howard) to mythic status on the screen. The visuals rock, the action rocks, the music rocks, and the boobs bounce. It's still an enjoyable film to watch 23 years later. Go figure.

No shit?! It was mine too! (although, I wasn't supposed to be there...I was underage but bought a ticket for another movie and snuck in to see Conan!)

Oh boobs aside, it truly is a great movie. Most good movies, I can say "needed more nudity," but Conan was just right. The sequel wasn't so hot though.

In Canada there's a different rating system. I think it was "Mature, Not suitable for Children," but my brother was a big Marvel Comics fan, so we HAD to go regardless. My mom sat behind me and at one point put her hands over my eyes, but only foe a second.
