Signed Books  Reply with quote

I've had great service ordering books in the past. I've usually pick a bookstore that is closest to me to order. I call or email a couple of weeks ahead of time to request a signed copy/copies.

The only time I've had something shipped that came in a little damaged was from a Barnes and Noble in Charleston, SC. I was there on vacation and saw that an author I liked was going to have a book signing the following week. I ordered the book and paid for shipping. They mailed it to me in a too large plain envelope with no padding and the book was not wrapped in protective paper or padding. The jacket was messed up. Sad

I ordered six signed copies of The Stupidest Angel from The Poisoned Pen when Chris was on tour last time (my Christmas gift and Christmas gifts for friends). They did an excellent job on shipping. They were in a box and each book was wrapped separately. I emailed them my thanks for taking the time to do it right.

That's a good idea, Lib. I'll aske Poison Pen if they want to be included in the "mail order gang".

Damn AG, when you gonna bring it back home? Back to SLO town baby??

Well, you can crash on my couch if you make it out this way. What? Think I would give you the bed? You're good, but not that good.

Good Luck on the tour.

I've done the same thing primarily from the Tattered Cover in Denver but others as well. The independent book stores always do a great job of packaging and shipping the book. I've given up on B&N. You'd think they'd never dealt with books before.

I'll be in the NY area, but not during the tour. I am really very sad. But I'll still buy it, because I want to. T_T

Check out the tour schedule, pick a bookstore close to you and then call them to see if you can reserve an inscribed copy before the signing.

I have a feeling that Chris isn't going to a book store anywhere near Lisa.

Tattered Cover (Lodo)
1628 16th. St.
Denver, CO
800-833-9327
www.tatteredcover.com <http://www.tatteredcover.com>

This is where I've ordered Chris's books (signed). Just contact them before the date that Chris is going to be there. Which is March 28th. They do a great job wrapping the book to protect it in shipping. Fast service, too.

I'd be surprised if Powell's didn't provide the same service. I'm kinda surprised they aren't listed on the tour. They have a mail-order operation, so I'd think you could get them to send you a signed copy.
