I'm a newbie (and duly naked, not Canadian, and sitting on a stack of dog-eared Moore books) and have a question for AG.

Since I'm new maybe this has been asked before, so anyone feel free to pitch in.

In both Dirty Job and Stupidest Angel, the whitest of white characters feel the need to speak "black" -- Asher's reason is the How to Talk Black tape he found in the store, and Gabe was just feeling the Catfish blues. Understandable. So is this going to be a new feature of AG's books?

With the growing Latino community, will future characters be habla-ing the espanol?

Just curious,

Gracias, homeys

I just think it's funny when white guys try to speak hip-hop. Same thing with Kona trying to speak Rasta/Pidgin in Fluke. That's all.

There was some black comedian -- I wish I could remember who it was: Pryor? Murphy? -- who did some devastating imitations of white people trying to talk black. He underscored the comedy of it by creating a black character who effected an Oxford accent.

He did another schtick of a black man carrying on simultaneous conversations with someone he was mad at (high voice) and his woman (low pitched) that was hilarious.

It's funny how these things always seem fresh.

I found it!

My First Post!

one year ago tomorrow, I found this website and posted this as my first. Since then it's been all down-hill. Thanks for tolerating at least some of the 890-ish posts that followed.
