Maybe what we need is a machine not to tell us WHERE we are, but WHO we are. Something that would make us look into our hearts and answer questions honestly about what is right and wrong, about what it actually means to be free, and human, and humane. About whether we really want to live up to the values of our faith and our country, not the manipulated dogma of people with a selfish agenda. We need a machine that tells us what it is to be decent, and kind, and forgiving, and generous, and just, and fair, and humble. And not just a voting machine, (although we can use that until the new thing comes out). Something cool. |
I'd like to request this in a revised letter to Santa. _________________ Book: A garden carried in a pocket. Arabian Proverb

Chris, thank you so much for that. The last big paragraph should be engraved in stone.
Next time you "don't read" something, that blog entry is a prime candidate.
Just sayin'.
By the way, a friend of mine has a GPS device that his older brother sent him for xmas a few years ago, and now he wants a newer one. Then again, he wants an iPod Nano thingie, too. Which would be the better gift for this season? |
I loves my Nano, Feef. Dexter at the gym, that's alls I'm saying. Also cheaper than like 99% of the GPS devices. |
The only one cheaper than a Nano is paying some guy twenty bucks to follow you around saying "There ya are" repeatedly. _________________ "Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a

That would make me really paranoid...
Just got a new phone this week, since the old one was on life support-
should I worry that they'll get me next?
