Oh! And Porcupines! They're pretty cool - you flick the edge of a blanket at them, and it comes back covered in quills - very, very sharp quills - don't let the puppy dog go after them...

I've seen a porcupine. Here is my assessment: porcupine = stickery pig

They just amble around and eat stuff from the ground, as far as I've seen. Now, bobcats are pretty cool. Bobcats = mean cats.

ANY cat is good. I adore cats. They are snuffly, gruffly, balls of fluffy loveishness.

When i was in mexico we had an alligator appear outside our room cause we were ground floor. THAT was scary.

Other animal encounters...
Hugged a giraffe, leaned on a tiger, held various snakes...
seen wild deer, foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits, badgers and seals in ireland.

Squirrels? Squirrels are just glorified rats with bouffant tails.

And chipmunks? Oh, don't get me started on chipmunks. Rats with racing stripes. Pygmy squirrels with press agents. I'd like to find the Disney animator responsible for "Chip and Dale" and make him relocate those little bastards into the industrial wasteland they so richly deserve.

Raccoons aren't exclusively nocturnal, and despite the plethora of websites on the net stating their nocturnalness, it's a misconception.

Opossums are nasty little buggers. And playing opossum is their last resort, hissing and baring their teeth isn't a sign of illness. We had one in our basement when I was a kid, my mom made a big opossum mess in the basement. She saw it out of the corner of her eye and thought it was our cat Phoebe (who had the dirty white coloring, but the cat had a few calico patches). It growled at her. You don't growl at my mom in her own house.

Opossums are mean and ugly. Raccoons can be mean, but they're fun to watch.

Now, about that bag 'o' dogfood...

For some reason, we find the occassional platypus by the side of the road-
near the river & dead, of course... Twisted Evil

Question zen, I believe the platypus is only native to Australia .

Perhaps what you're seeing are dead beaver. Confused

Nope, beaver don't have bills (trust me, this ain't tails I'm seeing)-
if you wanna come down here & tell them all to go back to Australia, I'd appreciate it-
from what I hear, those fuckers are mean!

I smelled a skunk last night. That means that there is one within at least 3 miles! Laughing
