Meaning Fforde also has a wife-like girlfriend, but he puts her on "display?" Confused

Jasper's wife Mari sort of acts like his Vanna.

I actually just finished The Eyre Affair. It was my first fforde book, and I have to say that I wasnt that impressed, yet alone blown away. Is there a better fforde read out there I should have read first?

You should have definitely started with The Eyre Affair if you are reading the Thursday Next series. The series really needs to be read in order for full appreciation.

My favorite of his is actually The Fourth Bear which is his second in the Nursery Crime series. If Thursday wasn't doing it for you, I suggest that one.

thanks! Ive got about fifty more pages of lust lizard, which will be done tonight fo sho, and then Ill see about picking up the first in the nursery crime series.

Im sure that the whole series would def add to the story. I was interested in things like when she hid the gun by the car and stuff, and how it would all play out through the series, and it was a great idea-but Im not sure if the style was what I was looking for.

Yep, you gotta read the whole series to get the whole effect-
I actually read the second one first,
which matters less when you consider all the temporal issues involved anyway... Wink

That would be "The Big Over Easy".

The Neil Gaiman message board can be found by visitng www.neilgaiman.com, and then clicking on the "message boards" link in the navigation bar.

Most of the activity goes on in the "World's End" section of the board.

Holy frijole, Manuel... you're in Westerville? I grew up in and around Columbus and graduated from Westerville South High School.
