Tip for future: Send a copy to your gmail account or some other online storage. That's what I do. It's my third backup mechanism.

That's what I do too. It's my only back-up mechanism.

Shup up. I'm a girl. Girls don't back up. Did you not see Sex and the City?

Yeah. LMAO at it. I back up on CDs. (And floppy discs before that.) Cool

Google actually has a service just for document storage http://docs.google.com. You can share them and allow others to edit them if you are so inclined.

Allow random others to edit?! Shocked

I think you'd quickly end up with no book left...

okay I get it - I'm a doofus for relying on only one backup method (although I was in the habit earlier of emailing, but stopped - dangit), and my writing "probably" isn't crap.

I love you people

(fyi - re-typing from paper has helped me find flaws and some parts that I really, really like. So not a complete waste)

No, not randomly. You can invite certain people or groups and set thier permissions to read only, or allow edits. Though allowing a group novel to be written might be kind of a cool social experiment.

Group novel has kinda been done, NAKED CAME THE MANATEE-
different authors writing different chapters in the same book...

I was thinking of maybe doing group memoirs-
of course, that only works if you all know each other & were there-
oh yeah, & remember...
