After months of stalking, a "hello".  Reply with quote

I have hovered over the threads here for some time, and have yet to post anything, because I didn't know where to start, or what I wanted to accomplish from posting here.

That being said, like many others here, I am an aspiring author. I have had multiple region publications, but have yet to have any success with a national publishing house.

I guess what I am looking for is a group of other writers to communicate with, and to learn from. The lifestyle of an author surely has been a lonely one for me, and the other artist that I frequently exchanged ideas with passed away this February and I have been left with no one to exchange artistic advice, although I do not claim to possess any said advice.

My main influences from the "classical" era of humorist writing include: Cervantes, Voltaire, Twain, and Vonnegut. However, I have learned a lot from reading Christopher Moore's books, and have likely been influenced heavily by them as well.

So, I guess my next posts will be in the writing section, but just thought I would introduce myself.

Heres the pie, now where's my strip search? Wink

Very Happy Welcome!

Have some cocoa with that pie-
it'll warm you for the strip search, whenever we figure out who's conducting it...

Not everybody here's a writer but we all read a bit-
our advice is usually "have some pie & cocoa" unless you have a more specific question... Wink

Welcome, wl! I'm sorry for your loss but, yes, there are a bunch of aspiring (and some published!) writers who frequent the writing forum.

I think we should let Bleu have at wlstone; she's been kinda bored lately.

If there is currently not a permanent strip-searcher, I would like to submit my resume. Please respond and I will post my resume. Thank you.
