1 part Bombay Saphire
4 parts tonic water
3 olives (large olives)... No twist
Ice (a handful should do nicely)
Stirred, not shaken... Use the olives on a toothpick as your stirrer

Ken's Best Ever Gin and Tonic  Reply with quote

Any interesting gin (CapRock? Hendricks? G'Vine? Bluecoat?)
Q or Fever Tree tonic water
Lime
Ice

The tonic and the order is the most important thing. Really. Try good tonic instead of that Schweppes crap and you won't believe the difference. Fever Tree makes 4 different tonics now, all much better tasting than anything you've ever tried (NOTE: only use the Mediterranean with Vodka, kind of gross with gin), and Q is great too.

As for the order:
1) Fill glass 1/2 way with ice
2) Squeeze a slice of lime over the ice
3) Pour a shot of gin over the lime (two shots for a tall glass)
4) Fill the glass to about 1/2 inch from top with the quinine water.
5) Drop the lime slice into it

enjoy....

Oh man, I love Gin and tonic... but it must have more than just a twist on lime... and replace the quinine water with Grand Marnier... and replace the gin with Tequila. Mmmmm... Yummy!

As long as you don't use Mad Dog & Coke for substitutes, it's all good-
I used to make a pretty good & simple vodka tonic...
