Hello folks..thought I would pop in, say hi..see how everyone is! So, who's first anyone..........? Ok, fine I'll share first I'm doing great! Freshly returned home (ok, it's been a week) from Chelan, WA where I was hobnobbing with big thinkers for WA Early Learning programs! It was a advocacy training conference.

Who else wants to share?

Here, I'll share again..it'll give everyone something to talk about Wink

I'm trying to keep my work upgrade from eclipsing everything else in my life and kinda failing in that regard.

i have had a MASSIVE traveling relapse. to fix this i've decided to never try and quit traveling again in the hopes that i'll never spiral out of control like i have in the last few weeks.
warning, the following post is nothing but news about me being a lucky son of a bitch with no other obligations but trying to selfishly fit in as much fun into my life before i die or have to start seriously putting money away for retirement (i've been half assedly putting a tiny bit away for a while).

after picking up 3 jobs* and making some scratch i went to vegas with my mom, where she attends an accounting conference every november, for 2 days. i'm not a big gambler but i love spending time with my mom and i needed to do some city shopping. and a damn good thing i did too cuz a few days before the trip some friends of my parents who were going to go to saint kitts in the caribbean bailed on them. short on available last minute traveling companions**, i was eyed as a suitable replacement. i painfully said some variation of "no, you two have a romantic get-away. plus tickets are around 1500." to which my mom replied on the way to vegas. "you can have some of my air miles for a ticket to seattle from where it is only $900 to get to st. kitts." and i quite happily caved.

*my goal for the year is to beat my record of 7 W2s.
**seriously considering adding "last minute traveling companion" to my resume right under "server for 'mr. schnitzel and the bratwurst king'"

But wait, this is an "what I have been up to" thread.

Let's see.

I'm currently working part time as both the Managing Editor of the University Press of North Georgia, and I'm a writing tutor at the same institution. i officially Graduate in December -- it's only taken me 7 years to get my degree. Though I do have to mention that I took 3 years off.

I've been super busy recently with not only my two jobs, but with the extra curricular activities I've picked up as well. I've been organizing multiple sides of this year's Dahlonega Literary Festival (http://www.literaryfestival.org/ , if anyone is interested).

Quick Edit: The website is down, atm, but keep checking back. =/

Walk. It is imperative that one get as much traveling in as possible before one reaches a certain age.
(30, cause after that you can no longer be trusted)
So, do not feel bad about it. Do not try to quit it. Just go with it.

As for what I've been up to ... the ususal, hiking, biking, cutting wood for winter, hunting, gettin my tags for goose and duck, lookin for a new pup.

Well lets see....I scored the winning goal in the west London derby, found a strand of DNA in my soup, painted the Towncar red, spent a dollar a day traveling through Greece, weaved my hair into a pineapple beehive, helped an old lady across the street and back again, built an orphanage for birds in my backyard, lectured CERN, fixed that leak on Wiki, became the great white hope and ate a plumb.
