If you haven't read Holt's other stuff yet, I'd suggest "Falling Sideways" and "The Portable Door" for starters. TPD is the first book in the series that includes Traces (and was the best of the first three, IMHO).

Calamity Physics looks good; thanks for the list! Interlibrary loan says it should be here on Friday. Smile
