Ann Arbor  Reply with quote

Oh pretty please come to Ann Arbor! (I know, you have no control), but that would just be so convenient for me to drive to. Also, if you go there you have to check out this place called the Crazy Wisdom Bookstore, it's like this new-age place, but the cool thing about it is that upstairs they have a really awesome tea room where they have a billion different flavors of tea and they serve it to you in an actual teapot with cups and saucers and everything. There are even a few tables that have armchairs rather than regular chairs and I just thought it was really cool and relaxing. There's also this fancier restaurant called "The Gandy Dancer" that's in an old train station and is kind of cool. (My grandpa said that a gandy dancer was someone who used to maintain sections of track or something, which explains the weird name.) Plus, there are a lot of crazy people in Ann Arbor since the state shut down the mental hospital and dumped them all out on the street, so I'm sure that you'll get loads of ideas for new characters. Very Happy So, uh, yeah that should really want to make you come.

Yes, go to Ann Arbor, but make sure to stop by Toronto on the way.

For once, I don't have to beg for a stop the Lou or KC  Reply with quote

I don't have to wait for the paper back tour. I just have to hop on BART and go . . . . somewhere. (I know, I'm insufferable, but life-long goal #1 achieved. Now working on life-long goal #2, getting a job in SF).

But just for fun and 'cuz no one else has said it, go to KC, MO so my mom and sis can go see you. I can send a secret message to them through you. Or just call them, but you know which is more fun?

As for how to make our 20 seconds fun and exciting, I'm with everybody who said they're happy if they don't stutter when they meet you. In fact, I would be thrilled if you just tell me, "Hey, you didn't make a complete ass of yourself today."

Jeff and I have already volunteered to act as escort and guard for any of you folks from south of here should you want to attend a signing in Ann Arbor. We'd be happy to include you in.

LOL. I didn't mean to start such a riot. Ann Arbor is really cool, and the crazy people are like an added bonus - flavor in an otherwise bland day.
