So far, you're the oldest, based on those who will admit their age. I think I can give you a run for your money on the brain cell thing. Since a woman loses half her brain cells with each child she bears, I'm probably a little ahead of you when I combine that loss with all the ones lost to substance abuse. I could be wrong, though, since you had a head start on me. Smile

Okay, Unc. 'Fess up. You're claiming to be the oldest on the board? Prove it. Twisted Evil

What would prove it? Throwing my bottle of Viagra at you? Laughing

I don't necessarily know that at 58 I'm the oldest, but since I successfully survived spending the late 60s as a California hippie, I'd be willing to bet I have the fewest number of functional brain cells... Rolling Eyes

I lasted, what, three days, as oldest registered board member? Sic transit gloria mundi!

Oh well, as long as we have two neurons to rub together, we're in the game.

As you can see, my "avatar" -- who comes up with these names? -- did not turn out very well: too small, all that white space...

Anyone know how to fix this?

Cheers,

John Palmer

You can open it up in a photo editor and declare its size. I think the biggest it can be is 120x120 (pixels). If the picture is longer on one side, just set that side to 120 and the program will usually keep the ratio for the other side by default (if it doesn't there should be a box you can check that says "preserve aspect ratio" or something similar, and then it won't distort the picture)

Then, save it that way and you should be all set. I think.

I did all that. I think that I must have gotten into trouble before that, when I was cropping the photo, and left some white space.

Sigh...

Will try something else.

Thanks,

John Palmer

Engineers. See also: cables with "male" or "female" connectors, master/slave disks, etc, etc...

Grab one of these for your avatar, if you'd like. Not enough resolution to upsize it much more than this without looking like crap.

Thanks for your help, Dave -- looks much better now. That white border before was awful.

I wish, as long as I'm here to point out that, unlike some other people, I have resisted the temptation to put a younger picture of myself up -- no age-denial here.

P.S. -- on, alright, if you want to be really picky about it the hand has aged about ten months since the picture

P.P.S. - and yes, of course, I'm that the cat! DUH!
