Initially, I liked the first one a little bit better than the second. Then as I started looking at the two of them in a trivial, nit-picky, worst-case-scenario way, I noticed that the way the letters stretch in #1 makes the dot on the i in "Trip" kind of look somewhat like an apostrophe. I started to think it might be possible for someone who doesn't already know the title of the book to think it reads "All Encompassing Tn'p." On the 2nd cover, however, the title and, more importantly, your name seem to get a little lost in the clutter of the items flying behind the car. This makes me greatly prefer the 1st cover.

Thanks all! Totally appreciate the input. As soon as I know any ordering instructions, I will post them.

We messed with number 1 a bit, not sure if it's better, though it does solve the wonko issue.

You know, just as a side note, I've been coming to you all with questions about this thing since I was writing it. You've been through every step of the way with me, and I thank you so much for that. (And Deb, you always say the perfect thing!)

So basically, if you don't like it, you only have yourselves to blame!

Okay, I'm going to go against the group and say I really dislike the font treatment on option 1. It makes it very difficult to read for me.

Honestly, I really like what I8 did with the chalkboard lettering best by far. Go talk to Michael and tell him that. You can tell him I said it if you like. That should make it official sounding as I've been helping on design with our ads for months (ack, also writing, which then makes me cringe when I see what I've written in magazines a month later).

I agree with Lynn. I like i8's font better. I'm a font nerd, in case you didn't know already.

Oh great! Now I'm an "issue"  Reply with quote

I was trying to make it clear that the things I was commenting on are very trivial. I wasn't trying to turn anything into an issue. Just for that, I'm retracting my earlier statement. I like them both equally, but above all:

I like the pie!

Is there going to be a way to get a signed copy? I like the chalkboard effect too.

They're both good but I like the complementary look of the colors for the fonts on number 2. The fonts work on both but I kind of get the feeling and maybe it's because you've got it against a black background as if it's
floating in space. What are you trying to achieve with either dust covers? If you want to grab peoples attention you could do it with color.

LOL --- Sorry ... not an issue, I should have said, the Wonko observation.

Chalkboard is not an option. Pie is not an option. Funny, but not an option.

Pie is always an option, not always funny, but always an option.

(p.s.: if you don't want your pie, can I have it?)

But you ate Tokyo - aren't you full? Or has it been an hour already?

There's always (Burp) room for pie.
