There are so many kinds of music that I can't stand so I'll limit myself to songs that I hate by bands that I like:

Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
My World - Guns n' Roses
Angel - Aerosmith
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da - Beatles
Desperado - Eagles
Without You - Motley Crue

I quite like these two but I can see how they could be annoying.

Smashing Pumpkins cover of Landslide irritates me. Actually, most Smashing Pumpkins does. Billy Corgan's voice is just annoying. Songs are pretty good...so I guess it's just the irritating singer. Wrong thread?

Maybe the wrong thread, but I can see where you're coming from. I like Smashing Pumpkins quite a lot, but that's an annoying voice. Can't stand the sound of Geddy Lee either.

The song that makes me cringe is "Horse With No Name" by America but I really cringe when Michael Martin Murphy sings it. The chorus goes:

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la ...

I hate, loathe and despise this stupid song especially the "ain't no one for to give" line. Nobody rides a horse with no name and not through the damn desert!

So ain't no one for to give me no pain on this song choice. Laughing Razz

Ah, I knew there had to be a mention of the Beatles song I hate most:

Quite possibly their worst work that didn't involve Yoko! Evil or Very Mad

Supposedly, that one's about heroin, just saying-
mind you, I prefer Lou Reed's take on the subject... Wink

^ One needs to be on heroin to listen to it or at least a gallon of some cheap wine. Both in my case. Laughing

What the fuck IS that????? Holy shit, man. I think you have actually found the source of all that is wrong with... well... EVERYTHING.

"Turn the Page" by Bob Seger. One too many drunk toothless dudes wearing rebel flag shirts that sing karaoke while pissing themselves. The again... one IS too many, huh?
Seriously. I hate that fucking song.

Ahh yes, Horse With No Name, the first song I ever learned how for to play on the guitar! Shocked

...And Rocky Racoon was the first Beatles song I learned to play. Shocked

...And some of my friends think my singing voice sounds like Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins. Shocked

I think I've figured it all out now. Idea

It's ME you hate! Well fuck you all. I don't care what you think, I'm going to go play Rocky Racoon while singing exactly like Billy Corgan and throw in the "La la la la la la" part from Horse With No Name, and you ain't no one for to stop me! Razz

What about the even more irritating remake that Mettalica did? Rolling Eyes

I think I quit listening to them before they covered it-
kinda proved I was right for doing so... Razz

Some of my hated tunes:

Wind Beneath My Wings
Shower Me With Your Love
Anything by Celine Dion

Black Out Band - Video Games This is possibly the most painful thing I've ever heard. I understand these kids are 12. But there's a limit to my patience. Mostly because they have a fully produced music video (wtf?). If you think the song starts off okay, just wait...

Damn straight! I hated that song just from hearing it, but it turned out to be an earworm as well. Spent 24 hours nonstop with that chorus cycling in my head. It sealed the deal and I now hate that song with a passion.

I also agree that anything done by the Maria Carey/Whitney Huston etc. trilling-whore crowd sucks the chrome off a trailer hitch. It's like, get over yourself and just sing the damn thing! And maybe try something that's not as sweet as maple syrup left in the sun too long while you're at it.

I personally have a bit of a vendetta against rap and hip-hop. I'm sorry, chanting about shooting people with a backing track that consists of the same two measures on an endless loop does not count as music. It's laziness to my ears.
