You need to have your pictures hosted on a website somewhere, like photobucket. Then for your avatar, you use the URL you use to see said picture on photobucket (or wherever has free picture hosting) in your profile for your avatar.

All my pictures I have are on in my own documents. So even for an avatar i'd have to put those on say flickr? So basically what you are saying it to use flickr or photobucket? download em..and then 'send' a link here?
Oh god, I am in the sticks on dial-up...last time I tried to use on of thos sites it took, literally, all night.
Crud.
Thank you though!

Is this a new thing, feef? Because I uploaded mine, but that was some time ago.
They have to fit within the image and file size, however, or it will kick you out.

every isp that I'm aware of includes a small amount of personal webspace for each email address. It's not always easy to find the on the isp's info on uploading to your personal webspace, but one you have it, it's easy to use that as a parking space for avs, etc. Even on dial-up up loading an avatar sized image doesn't take too long.

Yeah, Chris, I know. That's why I keep mine within the limits. But in the last month or so, I noticed that I couldn't upload an avatar from my computer, so I had to use the trans-load method from my website. Several other Boardello members have experienced the same problem since then.

It's gotta be some webserver zombie that's done gotten into the woodwork, I tells ya! Smile

It is. Started about 3-4 weeks ago. I've now dropped Ken a note; silly me thought he already knew.

Thanks, Steve. I should have done that instead of yelling on the Boardello. Embarassed

Ken is out of town for a few days, but says he has a suspicion about what the problem is. He'll be looking when he gets back.
