New Sandlin book...  Reply with quote

Tim Sandlin mentioned the book the AG is talking about and is asking if people are going to buy it, that they buy it at a specific time, since it will boost his numbers through the roof.

He said it along the lines of: A book that sells 200 copies in an hour will be higher on the list than one that sold 20,000 in a month (paraphrase).

On 24 JAN, at 6:00 PST (9:00 East Coast) is the time he's looking for, from Amazon

HERE'S a link to the blog where he talks about it.

If you haven't read his stuff, he's funny, very funny. And he's a fan of the AG, so that should count for something, just sayin'... Very Happy

Sorry, I didn't read your post until afterI pre-ordered it from Amazon. Hate to see a skinny 7-year-old offered up as bear bait.

Sure, I'll buy it. New author. Recommended by AG. No dead kids. All good reasons. Smile

He's not a new author. I first came across him when I rented the movieSkipped Parts, which was based on his book of the same name.

Well, I was all ready to cash in a few bags of alum cans and buy the book until -

Here's my cover blurb, which I sent Tim but he didn't use, so, you know, if his daughter freezes, not my fault. That's all I'm saying...

Dude got a CM blurb, and didn't use it? Shocked Shocked Shocked

In that case, all I gotta say is, I'm sure Mr Sandlin is fond of his daughter and she's a good kid an all, but them bears gotta eat too, ya know?

An if his bad ol' publisher throws him out in the cold, just tell him to move down here to Florida. Plenty of hungry writers, not much bears, and it ain't cold.

So, if he wasn't new to you, he'd be old.

Tim wrote me this morning to say that they did use my blurb, it just didn't end up on Amazon with the other ones. Still, don't blame me if a bear eats his kid.

Hey you guys,

Did you know that when the AG and Tim Sandlin stand next to each other, sparks fly out of their eyes? It's sorta like being a super-hero duo or something...

That might keep the bears away!

Very Happy

If you're poor, how about the library?

He made the suggestion too of asking your bookstores to order his stuff and then not picking it up so they have to put him on the shelves Very Happy
You could probably order it through his web-site as well, and he only charges $3 for shipping "no matter how many you buy" Laughing

I can testify that Rowdy In Paris is definitely a worthy companion to Tim's GroVont books (and indeed, the titular cowboy is a direct relation to characters in the earlier titles).

For a brief introduction to Tim's great body of work, you can see my interview with him in Bookslut last year at:

As you were.
