yes it is another new person to the this beautiful website of christopher moore fandom. i actually fancied this wonderful man's writing for years ('98 if i remember correctly). however i am about as internet savy as a cockroach which is why it took me 10 years to join this group.
what got me started on this great adventure into the unknown is the fact that i'm living in japan for a while (this is actually the 2nd time i've left the u.s. because i was pissed off at our current pres). japan has its good and bad points, one of the bad points is that biff's wonderful invention of sarcasm isn't appreciated here, its also frowned upon to be a bit of an oddball. that and conversational japanese isn't nearly as easy to learn as i thought it would be. in other words i miss talking/writing with people who share the same sort of oddball humor as myself.
sorry i ramble.

things i love (other than the obvious)
e.e.cummings and don marquis poems (hense the lack of shift key usage)
freakin japanese people out by saying "i refuse to eat whale" (seriously they get really edgy and start making goofy excuses when you say this which actually stems from a nice tendency to not want to piss people off)
walking where its ok to pee aka hiking (thanks demitri martin)
laughing
rambling
science
diving, swimming, fishing, kayaking and studying in the ocean
alaska
hawaii
northern scotland

anyways from perusing some posts this looks like i'll like it here.
cheerio
jillio

Doozo, Yoroshiku! Nomimono desu ka? (he said, trying to get the new girl drunk... Twisted Evil Wink )

    Welcome to the insanity.

    Couple things:

Read the rules, and abide by them...or not...

Bring pie, or a reasonable equivalent...

I think - but I'm not sure, we'll have to check with some of the various divi - that moving to Japan to escape certain monkeys - I mean, "people" - pretty much makes the ACCSS unnecessary...but again, we'll have to check with some of the more senior...members.

and finally, stay away from the brown acid.

    HAVE FUN! Laughing

Welcome Walk. Nice to have you with us. If you can't bake pies you will just have to pick some up at the store. But I wouldn't show up without pie because, well, let's just that would be bad. So, get naked and start posting.

i brought the japanese equivalent. i've dubbed them "yummy puffs" but the traditional name is "ichigo daifuku". they break down like this: strawberry (ichigo), whipped cream or anko/bean paste (i made both kinds), wrapped up in a mochi (indescribable gooey goodness) shell. the mochi i make is really sweet, i put extra sugar and some vanillia in it. top it all off with lots of starch powder and powdered sugar!!! Dozo.

i'm so stoked on the japanese!!! Very Happy
