Rep. Pete Hoekstra/Iran/Twitter and Bad Analogies  Reply with quote

This is cracking me up over here. Rep. Pete Hoekstra said

"Iranian twitter activity similar to what we did in House last year when Republicans were shut down in the House"

The following link has tweeted responses to the inadequacy/laughability of the analogy: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=petehoekstra

a small sample:

* I rode the Tweetsie Railroad with my family last weekend and it was hot and crowded. Now I know what the Jews felt like.

* I splashed my face with cold water this morning after shaving - which is similar to having been waterboarded

* My softball game was rained out today. Now I know what Hurricane Katrina felt like

* i broke a glass today. now i know what the kristallnacht must have felt like

-----

Also, www.huffingtonpost.com has excellent coverage of what's going on in Iran.

I dunno... Palin/Hoekstra sounds an awful lot like Perestroika, which, while it would nominally make sense in terms of their "anti-socialism" stance, would be dangerously unpronouncable for the majority of their constituency. the rest would list the ticket as their favorite Vodka. ("I can see martinis from my house!")

Had to walk three blocks to a cafe. Reminded me of the Bataan Death March.

My kids are arguing about who got the bigger chocolate chip cookie. Now I know what it takes to manage a bank industry bailout.

My friends just got me a cake with those trick candles that never blow out. It was like living the Hanukkah miracle.

I had to carry my briefcase into work today. Now I know how Jesus felt carrying that big cross.

I just used copy/paste in a word document and now I can totally relate to the work monks did transcribing bibles before the invention of the printing press.

I got a little too much sun over the weekend so I can relate to what the survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki went through.

I once watched Epic Movie. Now I know what it was like for all those people decades ago who got unnecessary lobotomies.
