Overpopulation? Pshah!

Oh, for the days when they'd take pre-pubescent choir-boys and snip out their testicles so as to turn them later into powerful sopranos in the opera house and the R.C. churches. The co-benefit of this practice? 100% reliable contraception!

And today doctors could even replace the missing organs with neuticles!

The government up here is trying a few different things to deal with the whole drug issue. In Vancouver, there is a "safe injection" site for intravenous drug users - they don't supply any drugs, but they DO supply clean needles and clean injection spaces, and also provide counselling to folks who ask for it - but they don't push it, they just let people know help is there if they want it. So far, it seems to be having a positive effect on the community.

And as for weed? Well, it's not technically legal, or even "de-criminalized", but most of the cops in this part of the country turn a blind eye - they have more important things to deal with than whether or not someone is about to buy all the chips and chocolate bars at the 7-11, and then go home and go to sleep. And besides, here in BC, the illegal pot trade brings in about 1 BILLION per year to the provincial economy.

So there ya go. The Canadian perspective.

I, for one, wouldn't be mad at anyone if they legalized weed. I mean, c'mon... it's weed.

most cop's in sf, didn't bother with the ganja either. in fact there were a few times that they didn't even take our dope after they found it. they were mostly looking for distribution amounts or weapons. but one of my tour friends got busted at a show in new york with a sheet of what turned out to be bunk acid that he had just purchased, and they held him without bail, for like 6 months....

Ya know in 1900 the World census was 2 billion people.
In 2000, 6 billion. Tripled in just 100 years.
Prolly the biggest growth spike in the history of the human race.
Now if we could just get those numbers back to the neighborhood of 2 billion.

see instead of banning hard drugs, people should be encouraged to do them.
