There are dozens of countries where people live as servants, and are bullied by the government. What are the chances those people are denied their Rights to Bear Arms also live in those countries? I bet pretty high.

Everywhere people live as prisoners by their governments including yours. There is no need to bear arms anywhere for that reason.

The reason guns came into being in the United States is none of the reasons you state.

Cause being knifed is much more civilized. Laughing

There is another option.

stoning?

Let's see, that's one, two, three . . .

There's a fourth[/quote] option.

And I [i]am
prepared to keep counting if necessary.

Sometimes you guys are hopeless.

The other option is not killing people.

*sigh*

I wasnt aware I lived as a prisoner in Austin, Tx.
Like I said, guns are great for self protection, and for keeping the government in check.
Just ask Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro, Chavez, whoever is running China right now, ect, attempts at Total control and Zero Legal Firearm ownership.

um...I would be interested in why you believe guns came into being

They're also pretty sticky about guns in Canada and Great Britain, countries which are comparatively free. And considerably less violent than the U.S.

last time I checked people own guns in both those countries...

Also according to this, The UK is worse that the US and South Africa.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1196941/The-violent-country-Europe-Britain-worse-South-Africa-U-S.html

Property crime and drunk driving are higher in Canada than in the US.

I still dont see how disarming me and others would help anyone.

also according to this Blog
http://wheelgun.blogspot.com/2007/01/crime-in-uk-versus-crime-in-us.html
UK is more violent than US.

The problem with alot of the gun violence stats they give you, is they include suicide in the total numbers.

Canada does allow gun ownership, but the controls are much more stringent than in the U.S., especially in regards to handguns, and certain classes of weapons are forbidden outright.

According to wikipedia.org the murder rate per 100,000 is:

Canada 1.83
U.K. 1.49
U.S. 5.4

I dont disagree that Canada is a pretty murder free country, but I think it has very little to do with Gun Control. Canada is just a nice place to live, pretty wealthy, and a low population, its idea for low violent crime. Also they dont have to deal with the illegal immigration problem we have and the crime that comes with that. Also they dont have L.A. , Chicago, Balitmore, and D.C. mucking up their stats *Notice all these places have strong gun laws*

Property crime (Robbery) and vehicle theft are still higher in Canada.

It still stands that the UK has problems even with low firearm ownership.

It boils down to people being the problem not the tools.

Ah, but the tools make it so much easier to do the job.
