Anyone going to the Moderation/Fear rally/counter-rally in DC?

I will be there!

I'm totally looking forward to this. Stewart and Colbert are awesome. The Daily Show has been my favorite non-fictional TV show forever. (I've been watching it regularly, since it was hosted by Kilborn. ::In retrospect, shutters at the thought of Kilborn having continued his tenure:: )

I too would be there if it wasn't for my giant Halloween party in the beer mines. just a 1.5 hour drive for me, hell, I could also just ride my bike to the train station and not worry about parking!

damnit John! why did you have to do this on the ONE weekend I plan for half the year!?

Yeah, how about a report? I watched on TV - shitload of people there. I enjoyed the Cat Stevens vs. Ozzy vs. The O'Jay's. My sister and her fam, plus my stepbro and his wife went for a little while - stepbro lives outside DC.

Oops, sorry no follow-up.

It was a blast. The Metro was packed, but unlike other times, people were all really cool (not like when the pain-in-the-ass tourists flock here in the Spring). A good vibe was had by all. Most of the attention in the press was on the ironic/witty/stupid/weird signs, but people in general seemed to be having a good time, not stomping on each others' heads, and enjoying getting along. Of course that all went to shit yesterday when the batfuck crazy party won the House, but I digress.

The rally was fun, entertaining, semi-serious, and completely worth my time.

B

Here are some pics from the Rally... taken by my bro-in-law.

That's my step-bro in the Duke sweatshirt.

This is my fave.

I was gonna say it looked more fun than my Halloweekend but I didn't see any pie pics-
we had pie, candy, butter beer & more edibles but less costume variety...
