So, how do you feel about the word "yolk"?

Donovan? Hmmm. Its been a while since I listened to him...

When I think of folk music, I think of: Joan Baez, Melanie, peter paul and mary.

You could even argue these guys as well: Simon and Garfunkle, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, the Kingston Trio, Janice Joplin...

I don't think I would put Donovan in that category

I think it's because Donovan's first hit was Catch The Wind.

Most people mistakenly think Bob Dylan wrote it and he covered it

It's folk music in my book. To quote an old line, "Folk music is whatever folks are singing." But yes, I should broaden the 'historical' part of the definition to include 'cultural' as well. Hey, it was off the top of the head.

Hmm...does that make rock'n'roll American folk music? :-)

For more on the topic of folk music and my attachment to it, see What Sgt. Steve Does (Occasionally) With His Weekends on this board.

Yolk doesn't feel as weird as Folk. I'm sort of neutral on it.

I am calling out to all board divas and divos (yes there is a group of them now. Watched Oprah) and Get Him for that April Fools Joke. What will be our plan of attack for tormenting us with his alleged departure. Hillary, Lauren, Chris, CU (okay and Kitty), Ferrit and Kilgore? Any ideas??

Hmmm. He seemed way too excited by the idea of the smiting stick. (I have to be careful whom I smite. Don't want to be known as the board dominatrix. High heels and chokers, yes, if worn with jeans and a peasant blouse. Riding crops and dog collars, no.) Wink

Plus if he enjoyed it too much, his wife would kick my ass.

Mrs. Dave S: Honey, why are you grinning?
Dave S: Mmmm, board divas.
MDS: What?
DS: Uh, nothing, honey. Say, can we buy a smiting stick next time we're out?
