Well shit, shit and double dog shit!!! Does this mean because I don't drive anymore (traumatized by California freeways. What can I say?) and only take public transportation that some of us will soon be bomb fodders if they decide to come here. And someone tell me why they do this on the 11th or the 7th. That just sucks. I know!! The metrolink doesn't really do anything in California (I didn't like working on it anyway back in the early 90s) and it's too freaking expensive why don't we ... well I don't want to give anyone ideas. Well ... now that I think of it ... I do have plenty of medication. Twisted Evil Hey I'm just kidding here. I liked the loo and I do agree with the consensus of the board.

Sure I'll give CM a "harumph" ... but Q the potential of Pythagorus has not not been fully unlock ... Lara and Elliot have had the 101 classes. The 201 level is amazing, and has led to the 301 level potential (and beyond). I just haven't had the time (or the paper) to sort it all out. A few less deaths in the family, a few less surgeries. Less office-gossip (AKA: LESS fucking noise), and a supervisor with more spine ... would also help. Oh, and while the nursing home is good for him, my father either gave up walking, or walking has given up on him.

Oh and the timing of the events ... proves it does NOT pay to try to be anywhere before nine in the morning (I may have to adjust that to TEN A.M. after the bus-separation).

And Bush talking about "liberty" is like a leper talking about finger-counting.

Aren't litmus and ph balance the same thing? Like you test the PH using the litmus paper.

Is that you, Kurt? Long time no hear. I take it life's been a little intense lately. Must be something in the stars that's affecting a lot of people directly and indirectly.

I expected Lara or Elliot to "out" me on this ... but way to be observant Sara Leigh. So yes, it's me.

I picked "Kosh" because I wanted to be Towson Maryland THIS WEEKEND caught betweem two Leetas/Lytas (Chase Masterson and Patricia Tallman) ... also among the guests was Patricia's husband who was the walk-around-Juke-Boxes, known as "Kosh" who was the resident Vorlons on B5. Among the other guests I'm missing right/rite now (while I'm in the office working ... on a Sunday) is Mary McConnell ("Stands With a Fist" in Dances With Wolves; the "First Lady" in Independence Day, and the "President" in the current version of Battlestar:MiamiVice); Joanna Cassidy (one of the relicants in Blade, and some Buffy actors, among others.

So if time-wise I could have swung the trip I might have inquired about diving-for-coi.

As for the where I've been ... someone HERE said I was wrong ... and then got all weepy and self-centered when I did the same back at them ... I showed great restraint to not go after her intelligence, ancestry, and personal grooming habits. Part of my "Indian-Sorcery" training and well as my Richard-Bach-Piggy-approach (use a big bowl and an big spoon ... it's from *The Bridge Across Forever) ... in other words, I don't do anything in small ways, so she got off easy.

But other aspects of life ... the geologist have to hand-hold the Environmental Protection Specialist ... about every month we get another task we have to do for them when it comes to the drilling of new oil/gas wells ... that we aren't qualified to do (either) ... That's two days lost to the same shit that they could "make up" just as easily as we can. My entire Friday got pissed away having to make a copy of each of those reports to send to the each of the four of them.

As I responded in the Email about that request ... when did we start doing this, again, BECAUSE ... (and I quote) "a time frame would be of big assistance ... I've had two deaths in the family and a parent to the nursing home so far this year, and another surgery for a family member just this week ... not to mention all of the other SMALL stuff."

The "SMALL stuff" is trying to do a year-and-a-half of work in five months, but at least doing the job of three others got lifted off my shoulders (for now). I'm also the same age as my mother when she was killed by a drunk driver ... so I'm NOT backing down, or away from, anything else this year. But the joys are also few and VERY far between too.

And yes ... the GWB comment on "liberty" from the G8 summit was about as useful and helpful as a Leper trying to teach someone to count with their fingers. "Liberty" is the last thing the Patriot (Pat-RIOT) Act stands for, which he wants renewed. The acts in London are about FEAR not "liberty" or "democracy" (like GWB knows anything about any of them ... his has been a life of privilege, failure/bankruptcy, and bail-outs) ... and the GOP specialize in feeding the FEAR to the voters, not in defending "liberty" or "democracy."

But as to Q's comments ...
With more of my time ... yes, there is a lot of untapped potential in the math of Pythagorus ... and Archimedes, too. Several tornado experts might find useful info in the "geometry" and "math" I'm working on, which might help them find the trigger mechanism(s) they are looking for in tornado predictions. But it too has to wait.

So I wish those in London well ... I know a guy who works about a block from the location of the former/future WTC site. My sister who went to New Zealand for her her junior year of high-school, one of the boys from one of her host-families, works for Shell Oil in downtown London ... so we are each one-person removed from all the excitement of New York and London.
Last I knew she hadn't heard if he's okay or not ... yet.

Peace ... OUT!

Oh for Christ's sake. I disagreed with you on something and I'm weepy and self-centered? Next time I'll bow down to your superior intelligence in all things and keep my opinions to myself.

Cheap fucking shot. Thanks for this. I really fucking needed it right now.

Actually, it looks like what happened is that you had different viewpoints, Hillary said that the two of you wouldn't agree, and Kurt... you proceeded to tell her she was wrong. That her opinion was wrong. And then blew it out of proportion and suggested prejudice was the cause of the opinion. Which, of course, is your opinion to have, and I can respect your freedom to have it. your attack seemed to turn personal... which doesn't seem to be good rhetoric.

And now, how many weeks later, you start pissing in the wind about it? Oh, but just a little bit!

Feel your convictions, and feel them strongly. But try not to resort to something 'subtly' petty like that? Please? Do it for me? As a personal favor? --- Sorry to post something incongruous with the rest of the thread, but...-

Checked the dictionary and ellipses are still not a form of punctuation.

And a side note to Kurt - don't take potshots at folks in other threads and try to make it seem anonymous. Some of us have more intelligence than you're giving us credit for and had already figured out who you were referring to. Be a man and post your comments in the thread in question instead of this cowardly crap.

Edit: Forgot to add that Mister conveyed my sentiments better. Smile

Points of Ellipsis  Reply with quote

According toWords into Type,an excellent style guide, their function is as follows:

"Three points, ..., are properly used to indicate an omission [as just exemplified], a lapse of time, or a pause too long to be indicated by a 1-em dash; if the omission occurs at the end of a sentence a fourth point is used--the period for that sentence."

They are also used in excerpts, but that's not pertinent to this discussion.

"Elllipses" is the plural form.

Drive through, please.

Hey Tal; go back and look ... the dig at ME was in MY thread, other than that I've kept my fucking distance! From here, and from them. Sara Leigh was the one who thought she recognized the content, and asked. Though apparently not enough for the person who came after me, then and perhaps again. No, I didn't read it; don't care to. Her words mean little to me, so I don't hear (or read) them. Hasta La fucking Vista ... or did I know spell something wrong too?

Why does everyone feel they have to run off simply because they don't agree with someone lately? So you guys don't agree on something B.F.D. - just skip their posts and they can skip yours. No one's asking anyone to not post because they didn't agree with another poster here. Agree to disagree and move on. Stop the high school histrionics and get back to having FUN.

I'll tell you guys what. I give you free rein to insult me in lieu of running from every form of disagreement. I'll be the board whipping boy if it means people will stop taking shit so personally. Hit me with your best shot - its all good.
