right now, is if you actually became the wall you were currently leaning on. - Dr. Cox - "Scrubs"

After studying, I ventured here for some comic relief. Boy, did I find it! The only problem is that to be appropriately clothed (or lack there of) for my first post, I went to Strippercize at the Rec Center but forgot about my 20 minutes walk home. It was an interesting experience (some alcohol would have made it better) but I think only a couple of people recognized me! So now in the privacy of my house, I am sitting on Bloodsucking Fiends and Coyote Blue (I would have more CM books for comfort but my dad swiped them parent's weekend - that is right, he flew 800 miles to take 4 paperback CM books. Now, my mother refers to me as “the snowy biscuit” – something about the fact that I grew up on the beach in Florida (technically still my permanent residence) and have not been out in the sun for years – but I digress). It is nice to find other people who appreciate a good laugh and actually have a scene of humor or so it seems . . .

"My God Barbie, how do you put your bra and panties on in the morning, all by yourself, unbelievable?" – yet another Coxism

I'm here! Caught me on a day when the store opens late.

Welcome to the compound. It sounds like you'll fit right in here. And I'm glad you've been following the rules. Which college are you going to in Baltimore?

Maybe pudding should be first. It's a better lubricant than an MRE, isn't it?

I always veiwed the strip search and a welcome gift... now that you are giving them MREs while they wait, I can only assume this has become some sort od sadistic hazing ritual... when did we become so inhumane???

Oh wait, this must be for the canadians, right???

MREs inhumane? OMG...wait a minute...so what you're saying is that by giving MREs to the newbies we're subjecting them to inhumane treatment? My poor, poor hubby...the USN treating him inhumanely by feeding him MREs...

I think it's 'cause Hilary & Goudron are so "behind" on the strip searches that it would be considered inhumane not to offer some basic nutrition not provided by pie and pudding while they wait on line for months on end.

No one ever strip searched me when I joined. However the rules were not in place then. Q and I had not decided on the proper set when we both had the bright idea to set up rules for posting here. Q's ideas making up the bulk of the newbie initiation.

cheers

I go to Hopkins.

It seems that being a newbie is like being a pledge . . . AWESOME!!

Otter: He can't do that do that to our pledges.
Boon: Only we can do that to our pledges.
