me, I think  Reply with quote

Hi,

I'm a fifty-three year ol Enlish teacher/musician/aspiring writer.

I'm not sure about some of the way things work on this BBS and have a sneaking suspicion that I'm using the handle of another "John Palmer" out there somewhere. If that be the case, I'm probably older than you are so it was my name first. Smile

I started out as a musician, pop then classical then pop again. I've worked as a pop musician (did an album that didn't sell very well years ago), church organist, music teacher, and now for the last 14 years a high school English teacher. I've been writing fiction for the past five years and will start to get serious about trying to get some of it published soon. Tried a few years ago but I wasn't ready. Wish me luck.

I saw "Lamb" on the shelf and had to buy it. I loved it, and have now read all the CM books.

I am not married and have no children I can admit to, but wish I could.

John Palmer

Somebody who's older than me, or at least will admit it on the board. So John Palmer, you have to REGISTER. No more guest thing, otherwise I'm still the oldest registered board denizen.

I second the welcome. I also strongly urge you to register. I'm like Sara Leigh...would like seeing some more mature people sign on (note I didn't use the word OLD).
Lamb was also my first CM book. I then read Fluke. That got me hooked (no pun intended).

Glad to have you here.

We're a friendly bunch. Even us 'immature ones'. We're not quite ripe yet, but we don't bite. At least as far as embryos go.

Very Happy

I don't bite. I kick people in the shins and steal their wallet. Welcome anyway. I did the music teacher thing for a year and was completely traumatized by it so I'm working on my masters and eventually my doctorate so I can teach college and kick the annoying ones out of the classroom, although I still think the perfect existence would be travelling aroud the country in an RV performing at Renaissnace Faires. I don't believe in old on this board. I don't believe old people exist. I haven't seen any proof of it.

Welcome aboard. Don't let any of these nutjobs scare you away. Most of us here are completely normal.

P.S. Beware of the fish

Except John.

He has this fish thing going, and sometimes, he talks to walls. Screams at them, really, which is quite disturbing.

I'm confused do I bite him now or was I supposed to do it when he was still a guest? Wink

Yes, until someone 'fesses up to being older.

So now what's my claim to superiority on this board? Oh yeah, I'm the biggest time waster, based on the total number of posts. Mr. Green

What would prove it? Throwing my bottle of Viagra at you? Laughing

I don't necessarily know that at 58 I'm the oldest, but since I successfully survived spending the late 60s as a California hippie, I'd be willing to bet I have the fewest number of functional brain cells... Rolling Eyes
