OK so I was actually cleaning my room last night and all week!

so my folks and the their friends come in and go WOAH!!

in exchange I get to sit a pair of chinchillas in the result of my clean room. so they need some names from me. I have a few ideas based off what I've heard about them.

they are devious, they cna unlock their cage, but if I use my old locker lock they will need the combonation for it. which only my mom and I know.

they love to run around and love pun'kin seeds.

I think they are both male. they dont have an official name for each one but Sally, moms friend adn the grandmother to these creatures calls them cheech and chong. I have some better names.

My Chinchilla's name is Pepe (think cartoon skunk - ya know, as in LaPew). However, I could not get over the "Sasquatch and Yeti." Those are just cute. Especially good names for those little fuzz buckets. I voted for those.

oh also my mom wants to put me back on speed. if that happens, I will not be the same,

1. I will lose my hyperness and become a zombie again

2. I will be more focused but still not motivated

3. I might lose weight again

4. I will try bad things again and this time I wont wont even be bragging about things. (not allowded to say what they are.)

5. I will probably start to sing bullet wih butterfly wings. (the world is a vampire, sent to dra-a-ain! secret destroyers hold you up to the fla-ame! and what do I get for my pa-a-ain? ......you know how it goes)

You're 19, right?(Ginjg goes all mom preachy)

If you're already medication free, you should be informed of your alternatives and make the decision in consultation with your Dr. and trusted family members of your choosing. There are long term health concerns to consider. There are diets, hypnosis and behavioral techniques that are effective with young adults that you may want to explore first. No one should be putting you on anything without your informed consent unless you are a danger to yourself or others.

However, if you do feel that the meds might improve your quality of daily life, do work with the Dr. to find the least dosage that will be effective as Gracie suggested. But make it your work, not your parents'.

You are fully capable of taking this responsibility for your wellbeing. It will also to demonstrate to your parents that you are.

We're rooting for you RedOrcaMoon.

I voted Sasquatch and Yeti, simply because those are the ones that I think would sound funniest if one of them got stuck behind the couch.

"Oh no, Sasquatch is stuck behind the couch."

Although, there is a lot to be said for naming one Sasquatch and one Jesus.

"Oh no, Sasquatch pooped in Jesus's bowl."

Or the ever-popular: "Jesus died, and the the third day, we made him into fuzzy mittens."

But that's just me.

This made my husband and I both cry from laughter. It doesn't help that we call our Chinchilla "Earmuff."

We once raised a calf for eventual butchering. To avoid issues with it becoming a beloved pet, we named it Hamburger.

Re ADD treatment: Adderol is a time-release version of the same core drug. It has a much less agressive impact when first taken in the morning, and stays in the body at a much more consistant level during the day. I took one in the morning and a half-tab at noon. It'd start to fall off around dinnertime and I'd be able to sleep without a problem. All in all, it beat the hell out of Ritalin or methamphetamine. Like normal methamphetamines, it's a schedule 1 drug and thus a pain in the ass both to get prescribed and to buy. But if they're already looking at regular methamphetamine, they're already going through that rigamarole. And in comes in a wide variety of doses with scored tablets, so you can really fine-tune the dosage.

Adderol worked fine for my ADD issues, but had the side-effects of making me more hot-tempered and raising my blood pressure about 20 points. About five years ago I was switched over to Strattera (Atomoxetine). It's a non-stimulant treatment and doesn't involve any fancy prescription b. s, so we can order it through our medical plan in 3-month quantities. The only side-effect I've noticed is an occasional dry mouth, which is much better than having screaming fits at co-workers.

There are also other interesting treatments. If it's been a while since you've been through an evaluation, I'l second Ginger and suggest you sit down with a specialist and talk it out. Mine is pretty good, but it's a bit of a drive for you... Smile

well my mom asked in front of our lawyer friend, the one who is getting me a one day trip to atlanta georgia, (to see the new aquarium) and yes im 19 gonna be 20 very soon. Twisted Evil but I did tell her that day no. but shes not convinced. I think she wants to control my mind, send me to a group home and force me to live socially. its not the way I work.... but she knows if she wants to put me back on the meds, she has to fight a warrior babe of the orcas. and she doesnt like Red orca Moon, or Dizzy. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

oh also my dad bitches at me at what i eat. i sually listen to him and eat loads of fruits and veggies. but mom buys lots of weird things like jimmy dean and what not. I dont like it that much. nor do I like mushrooms, scallops or chinese food that much. (or veal) but i do eat lots of fish, fruits and veggies. and lentil soup. (and my chowder when I get to make it.)

RedOrcaMoon,

If your mom is suggesting group homes she definitely wants you to become more independent, at least from her. Though it sounds as though she still believes you need some level of supervision. By taking control over your regulation, whether it be with meds, a behavior mod program, diet or whatever, you will demonstrate that she has ever less to be worried about as you move into independent adult life.

My cousin was cold turkeyed from his HD meds when he joined the service. He self-medicated with alcohol and nearly ruined his life. It's a very common occurance with ADD/HD people. He's got it all under control now without meds, drugs or alcohol, but it was a long hard row to hoe. Obviously, Sgt. Steve took a more structured route and he's had a more satisfying time of it.

I know it feels good to blow everyone off about this. But blowing yourself off really only stalls your life. Find an effective support strategy that allows you to move out into the world and build a productive happy life.

actually gingj, you wouldnt know it, but I'm not fully ADD. I have some qualifications. I'm actually diagnosed as a mutt in the dissabilities world. I have aspergers, ADD and quite a few other things. I think depression was in the mix too.

my mom told me tonight that she thinks i should be back on the meds cause she wants me to calm down a bit. well I said to her you wanna be on 14 yrs of speed and anti depressants? I dont think so. I want to be wild and free, like Molly Michon. if she can be crazy, why cant I? mom goes HUH? she only read fluke nad she didnt get it. I did. I tried to explaine to her that people like me for who I am, if I lose the side of me that I love, think of who else we'll lose. We will lose the Red Orca Moon side of me and she is a huge michon fan. my mom doesnt understand that the RedorcaMoon chracter is an important aspect to me. much liek the Narrator is to Molly/Kendra. but Red and I are like sisters. no shes not a voice in my head, bu more fof a psycological creation. over the summer, my ex asked me to not roleplay for a whole month. that is something I love, and inthe result I had a high fever, he didnt come by once to see if I was ok. know who did? Red! it was like an astral projection of her and she stood beside me and helped me out, and talked to me; as did the dog. so you see? I cannot do meds again. the last time I was on them, i almost died a few times and did OD on them. it wasnt pretty.

but off that subject.

BOOBIES AND CHINCHILLAS AND BUNNIESS!!!! ^^

and orcas cant forget them.

I personally like Balthazar and Gaspar. They seem like pet names.

Advice from one crazy person who misses Maryland to another crazy person who lives in Maryland: I wouldn't suggest the group home, though I do highly suggest group therapy. Believe me as someone who tried it for a year, sharing your demons with a room full o' crazies for 2 hours a week and having them share back is enough to let all neuroses make a bizarro feedback loop that eventually calms the effects. And you get to make friends, which is my biggest gain out of it. Living with crazies can potentially get to be too much, and by 'potentially' I mean I'd sure as hell bet on it.
If you don't want to take the moodication (I called mine that, because it made it sound cute), then don't, mainly because it won't do what it needs to if you don't want it to. Either by a sort of reverse-placebo effect or self-sabotage in which you'd stop yourself from taking it. But go with the shrink. At worst, they are someone to vent at. At best, they can help.

So now I came back from a caffeine need and read what you said and am going to not delete all that.
I felt removed while I was on my moodication. A weird type of distant that I still know I feel. And after a while (5-6 months), my body got used to it and so it didn't work anymore, which is appartently normal in my family but since I don't get sick for more than 2 days I didn't know this common fact. In fact it only made everything feel worse, after not feeling after a while or having as many attacks and having it all come back at normal or full strength.

Feel free to PM me vhenever if you need talk about your Narrator, who is telling your chinchillas have the same horrible (but hilarious) nighttime routine. "What are we doing tonight, Nigoth?" "Same thing we do every night, Fenrir. Try to take over the world!"

Also to note: Orcas > Boobies > Bunnies > Chinchillas > jellybeans > duck tape (it's the plus sign in the famous "duck + duck = hilarious" equation)
