Hey AG,

Gratz on completing another (obviously vis the NY Times) awesome tome! The Husband came home with it on Friday. He was shopping for The Nephew's first b-day and did the book reveal striptease with "Olivia" and my childhoood favorite "I Am A Bunny."

Then, lo and behold, the shiny new-bound book of coolness. I'd love to say I've ripped through it, but I didn't. I'm-a readin' it slow...cause I hate my favorite books to go by too fast.

Again, gratz!

Wow. Number six for the debut? This is truly a feat! And my bookstore doesn't even care about the NYT BS list -- unless a really cool author we really really really love is on it. As in this case.

editing here. You should definitely have your first chapter up there where everyone can read it, Like some of the other books do.

P.S. I notice that you posted at 1 am my time. Did you stay up late to check the Times for that list? There goes you 'cult' status!

It's been up for a couple of months, Gracie. Check on the web page under Books, A Dirty Job, Chapter excerpt. He cleverly hid it there so no one would find it Smile

Just checked the NY Times list, your Nineness...hope you wiped, cuz you're in a good position to rub your butt on Stephen (the Gazillionaire) King's head! Ahead of Jackie Collins, too, but she'd prolly give you a rash if you did that to her...

Chris, congratulations! No one deserves it more. You might be number nine on the list but I'm saying it here and now:

You're #1.

BTW, I didn't get time to read the paper today. I had dinner with my sister this evening and she asks if I'd read the paper. She says Chris's book is number nine. They won't let me back in that restaurant again. They kinda frown on people dancing on the tables. Shocked

I KNOW THAT, your nineness. I am talking about a link on the NYT book list page. Notice S. King has a link and you don't.

Interestingly, the first chapters in the links on the NYT Bestseller List are all resident on the NYT website. There must be a process that one goes through to submit your first chapter to their site so that they can link to it on the list.

Stuff to do. Huh. You always act so busy. Charlatan. I know all you're doing is travelling around the US having lots of mini-vacations.

Congratulations, your Nineness. I think I'll see you in Detroit, but that will be the 8th. Hopefully that doesn't cause any sort of bad mojo.[/b]

The wife and I plan to prepare by wearing clothes. We request that you do too.
